Single-port, 2-port and 8-port configurations are available; the ordered serial-port count must be selected before quotation.
Basic single-port families use 10M Ethernet. High-performance and multi-port families use 10/100M Ethernet.
Select the required RS485, RS232 or RS422 interface and confirm the port combination on the ordered version.

Modbus RTU/TCP gateway operation is available on the corresponding models. TCP, UDP, HTTP and MQTT are available only on the documented family variants.
DC 8–28 V is the common low-voltage option. PoE or AC input applies only to the configurations that list it.
Do not specify BACnet, Linux, isolation, protection ratings or certificates without confirming the exact serial-server model.

It connects an installed serial device or serial bus to an IP network. Depending on the selected configuration, it can tunnel serial data over TCP or UDP or bridge Modbus RTU devices to Modbus TCP.
How many serial ports are available?
This product family includes 1-port, 2-port and 8-port configurations. Share the number of independent serial loops, devices per loop and serial settings so the correct option can be selected.
Does it support Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP?
Yes. This product family includes Modbus RTU/TCP gateway models. The device role, register workload, polling behavior and timeout settings still need to be confirmed for the project.
Does every configuration support MQTT or HTTP?
No. HTTP and MQTT are documented on selected families, not every enclosure or interface option. State the required upstream protocol in the RFQ so the quotation can name the matching configuration.
Is this the same as an edge IoT gateway?
No. This family is intended for direct serial-to-Ethernet conversion and Modbus bridging. Use an edge IoT gateway when the project needs broader protocol handling, cellular backhaul, local processing or a network-outage queue.
Does this family include BACnet?
BACnet support has not been confirmed for this serial server. If the BMS requires BACnet, include the BACnet object and version requirements in the RFQ so a separately verified gateway can be selected.
Can an RS485 Modbus data acquisition gateway connect existing meters to MQTT or SCADA?
Yes, when the gateway supports the required device roles, register maps, baud rate, polling load and upstream protocol. Confirm payload mapping with the receiving MQTT, Modbus TCP or API system before quotation. The receiving application and any display functions are specified separately.
Is RS485 the same as Modbus RTU for industrial data acquisition?
No. RS485 is the electrical bus. Modbus RTU is a protocol commonly used on that bus. A quotation should confirm both the wiring and the register map, plus any Ethernet or MQTT handoff on the upstream side.
What should I provide when requesting a quote for the RS485 to Ethernet Gateway / Serial Server?
Serial interface, independent loop count and device count per loop; Baud rate, parity, stop bits, addresses and register list; Required Ethernet role: transparent TCP / UDP, Modbus TCP, HTTP or MQTT; Ethernet speed, IP plan, firewall and commissioning ownership
