Select the gas modules and mounting protection before ordering
This is a configurable wired instrument. The selected channel set and installation conditions determine the final measurement package.
- Choose standard NH3 at 0-100 ppm, high-precision NH3 at 0-10 ppm, standard odour at 0-50 ppm, or another reviewed channel combination.
- Up to five or six parameters can be selected by configuration. The product is not supplied with every listed sensor module installed.
- The reviewed interface is RS485 Modbus RTU with 12-24 VDC power. There is no approved 4-20 mA, battery, LoRaWAN or integral cellular claim for this product.

How to choose
- Choose standard NH3 at 0-100 ppm, high-precision NH3 at 0-10 ppm, standard odour at 0-50 ppm, or another reviewed gas module.
- List the complete channel set. The platform supports up to five or six selected parameters, not every published module at once.
- Define whether the readings support environmental trends, nuisance-odour investigation or another operational decision. Safety or compliance work requires a separately approved detector and method.
- Review temperature, humidity, airflow, cross-interference, nearby sources, washdown and enclosure exposure before deciding the mounting point.

Applications

Use this wired configurable sensor when a site needs NH3, odour or a selected combination of environmental channels on one RS485 Modbus RTU device. The reviewed hardware accepts up to five or six selected parameters by configuration and uses 12-24 VDC power. It does not contain an integral LoRaWAN, cellular or battery data path; remote telemetry requires a separately selected gateway or RTU. The ordered gas modules, channel count, ranges, calibration and mounting protection are confirmed in the quotation.
- NH3 or nuisance-odour trend monitoring in protected industrial or environmental installations
- Waste-transfer, composting or livestock-area monitoring after airflow, interference and mounting are reviewed
- Multi-parameter stations combining selected gas, temperature, humidity, pressure or particulate channels
- RS485 data input to a customer PLC, RTU, SCADA or remote-monitoring gateway
What to include in your quote request
- Required gas modules, range and alarm thresholds
- Other environmental channels and total channel count
- Monitoring purpose and any applicable safety or regulatory requirement
- Temperature, humidity, airflow, interference, mounting and enclosure exposure
- 12-24 VDC supply, RS485 topology, cable length, address and polling interval
- Gateway / RTU, destination platform, payload and alarm workflow
- Calibration documentation, quantity, certificates, pilot date and rollout stage

Frequently asked questions
Can one sensor monitor both NH3 and odour?
Yes, when those modules are selected in the ordered configuration. The reviewed platform supports up to five or six selected parameters, but the quotation must list the installed channels, ranges and register map.
Does this sensor connect directly to LoRaWAN or a cellular network?
No. The reviewed product is a 12-24 VDC RS485 Modbus RTU field device. Use a separately selected RTU or gateway when LoRaWAN, 4G or Ethernet backhaul is required.
Can it be mounted outdoors or directly on a waste bin?
Not from the reviewed evidence alone. No universal IP or outdoor rating is approved for this page. Share the mounting, airflow, weather, washdown and enclosure conditions so a protected installation can be selected.
Is it a safety-certified ammonia detector?
Not by default. The public evidence supports environmental monitoring hardware, not a safety-certified detector. Any safety, worker-protection or regulatory use requires a separately approved instrument and method, including the applicable calibration and site procedure.
What should I provide when requesting a quote for the Configurable Multi-Gas Sensor for NH3 & Odor Monitoring?
Required gas modules, range and alarm thresholds; Other environmental channels and total channel count; Monitoring purpose and any applicable safety or regulatory requirement; Temperature, humidity, airflow, interference, mounting and enclosure exposure
Where can I compare available model options?
Open the Smart City Hardware Catalog linked on this page. It lists SG-coded selections reviewed from available source documents; the ordered configuration is confirmed in the quotation.
Will it work with my existing system?
Compatibility is reviewed against your field signals, protocols and upstream platform. Typical pairings include PLC, RTU or data-acquisition master using RS485 Modbus RTU, 4G, Ethernet or LoRaWAN telemetry through a separately selected gateway or RTU, 12-24 VDC field power and protected mounting selected for the site.
